Pedagogical Strategies for Supporting Students’ Emotional Wellbeing

Ash Tea and Dr. Dax Ovid introduce Social Emotional Justice, a concept that reimagines social emotional learning by identifying and addressing the power dynamics that reinforce injustice through emotional policing in classroom environments. With this groundwork set, Tea and Ovid will facilitate a discussion of social accountability with STEM educators. By considering the collaborative contribution to emotions educators activate within STEM students, Tea and Ovid will explore how educators impact students’ ability to manage emotions while striving for academic goals.
